Mail-In Card Service Terms

Read this before mailing us your card. It protects both of us.

1. Who we are (and aren't)

CLNK is not a bank, card issuer, or payment network, and is not affiliated with, endorsed, or sponsored by any financial institution. All bank and network trademarks belong to their owners.

2. Your cardholder agreement

Your physical card may remain the property of your issuing bank. Modifying it may breach your cardholder agreement; your issuer may decline the modified card, reissue your card, or close your account at its discretion. You accept this risk and remain solely responsible for compliance with your agreement.

3. Identity & ownership

You represent the card was genuinely issued to you. The name on the card must match your government ID and your payment method. We may refuse or return any card, and we report suspected fraud. You represent this service is not used for any deceptive purpose.

4. What works after conversion

On our classic solid-metal build, tap-to-pay will not work — the contactless antenna stays in your old plastic card. Tap-to-pay survives only on our hybrid build for qualifying chip types, confirmed before production. Do not insert metal cards into motorized ATMs that pull the card fully inside. Chip and swipe function are not guaranteed at every terminal. We recommend enrolling in Apple Pay / Google Pay before sending your card.

5. Bank reissues

If your bank reissues or changes your card number for any reason (including expiry or fraud), the converted card stops working. Replacement is at your cost unless covered by a CLNK protection plan.

6. Shipping

Lock or freeze your card before mailing. Use our prepaid tracked label — mailing any other way is at your risk. Return shipping is tracked with signature required.

7. Your old plastic — your choice

At order time choose: returned to you with your metal card, or securely destroyed with photo confirmation. Destruction is irreversible.

8. Your data

Cards are photographed at intake for condition and identity records, with middle digits masked in retained copies; intake photos are deleted 30 days after delivery. We never store card numbers, CVV, or expiry in any database, never share or sell card data, and keep cards in locked storage.

9. Liability

Our total liability is limited to the greater of the fees you paid or your issuer's published card-replacement fee. No consequential, incidental, or punitive damages (including fraud losses, lost rewards, account closure, or credit effects), except where New Jersey or New York law requires otherwise. Report any suspected card loss to your issuer immediately — federal zero-liability protections run through your bank.

10. Our care

We exercise reasonable care as bailee and maintain insurance for customer property in our care. Cards unclaimed or undeliverable 90 days after notice may be securely destroyed.

Governing law: New Jersey. US-issued cards only. You must be 18 or older.
